What We Do

We develop and license suites of structural technologies and designs to contractors and end-users that enable people to construct a vast range of applications that range from complete housing and sheltered habitat through aircraft and beyond, all cheaply, as strong as steel, and completely sustainable.

Eden Project

Design for Community Project in Iceland

We research and develop structural technologies - processes, materials and applications. We offer these designs and processes to local contractors and individuals to build locally – a fully distributed manufacturing model.

These activities combine to deliver transformative technology to the world, at prices all can afford.

Business Model & Market Entry

Given global scope, only distributed manufacturing makes sense. It breaks down as follows:

  • Light manufacture of core architectural building components; develop production prototypes, scale to manufacturing, and take to market on limited scale.

  • Franchise and license those designs and processes.

  • Partner to develop outside of core (e.g. musical instruments, UAV communications, armor, etc.) & license the process technologies to the developer partners.

  • Facilitate leagues of manufacturers and developers.

  • Syndicate sources.

  • Grant limited free licenses process technologies, as well as developed designs, for non-commercial and academic use, to stimulate independent developers and designers. Those independent developers can offer their new designs either open-source or for-profit, and can in turn feed commercial enterprise.

  • Host these independent designs, vetted, at a company web portal.

  • Stimulate alliances of grass-roots local manufacturers, entrepreneurs, franchisees, & licensees.

  • Advance civilization.

*’cheaply’, for example, means basic homes in developing countries for under $500 USD ($10/m2), small homes in developed countries for as little as $2,000, and large fully custom homes and condos for as little as $20,000 (exclusive of land, permitting, and so forth.) That amounts to roughly $10/ft2 ($90/m2) versus $200/ft2 (the current going rate in S. California.)
